It was important for me to visit the archive in Örebro without predetermined ideas, to seek a spontaneous dialogue with one or more of the historical objects. The wolf spears spoke to me directly, and I was attracted to them for its aesthetic expressions that I thought conveyed both soft and sharp, associative to human characteristics, as well as a poetic nerve and willingness to convey novels. In addition, I was attracted to the wolf spears based on its direct connection to structural systems, and thus for the ability to link to other parallel ”rooms”, contexts and structures.
The work that has evolved over time and in a continuous exploration in both archives and inner and outer ”rooms”, is based on humanity in relation to social, political and hierarchical structures in society. In a modern era that is faced with, amongst other, refugee crisis, war, increased mental illnesses, political tensions, natural and hunger disasters, indifference, as well as "authentic sleeping minds”, the wolf is used symbolically, via the historical wolf spears borrowed from Örebro Läns Museum ́s Archive, to create room in the room for exploration, dialogue and reflection.
The spatial formation of wolf spears is built on a historic road, a map for traditional wolf hunting, to link history to the present, and want together with the unique novels carried by each spear, and the sound archive interwoven by various system-related novels, to reflect around questions like: who and what is the wolf in today's society? Is the "wolf" the problem? The line between reality and misdirection? The right to reject or meet our fellow travelers in time? Ourselves? Origin sources? Self in relation to space, memory, perception and time? Or, something else?

INGEN ÄGER TIDEN?
Samtal om historieberättande och närmande
Ingen Äger Tiden är ett kreativt undersökande projekt på Örebro läns museum som väver ihop forskning, konstnärlig gestaltning, pedagogik och metodutveckling. Målet är att utveckla ett historiskt medvetande som är inkluderande. Projektet vänder sig till en varierad målgrupp bestående av museer, forskare, konstnärer och en mångfacetterad publik.
Som en del i projektet har museet ett pågående samarbete med Kungliga konsthögskolan där tjugotre konststudenter utforskar och tolkar museets samlingar för att diskutera och ompröva historiska och samtida relationer mellan föremål, plats och gemenskap. Resultatet visas i utställningen Ingen äger tiden - vem har rätt till historien? som invigs på Örebro läns museum den 24 mars.
Utställningen vill synliggöra och kommentera hur historia skrivs, hur den omvärderas och omformuleras beroende vem som använder sig av den. Vad betyder det att ingen äger tiden?
Projektet leds av Daniel Urey på Örebro läns museum och Johan Hegardt, forskare vid Södertörns högskola.
Workshopen "INGEN ÄGER TIDEN? Samtal om historieberättande och närmande"
leds av Louise Stiernström som är en av 23 utställande konstnärer på utställningen ”Ingen äger tiden”.
Utgångspunkten för workshopen är utställningen Ingen äger tiden och verket ”The details gives the Novel some verisimilitude”, en rumslig formationen av vargspjut har byggs upp utifrån en historiskt utstakad väg, en karta för traditionell vargjakt, för att knyta historia till nutid, och som tillsammans med varje spjuts unika uttryck och berättelser, och det ljudarkiv som vävts samman av olika system-relaterade berättelser, vill samtala runt frågor såsom: vem och vad är ”vargen" i dagens samhälle? Är ”vargen” problemet? Skiljelinjen mellan verklighet & omskrivning? Att avvisa eller möta våra medresenärer i tiden? Oss själva? Ursprungskällorna? Självet i förhållande till dåtid, nutid, och framtid? Till rum, minne, perception och tid? Eller, något annat?
Var och när: Vi möts tisdag den 16e maj kl.13 i Svenska kyrkans hus, "Hållplatsen", Storgatan 27 Örebro. Med utgångspunkt i minne, perception, tid och rum delas berättelser i förhållande till dåtid nutid och framtid, samtidigt som textilt verk framarbetas. Därefter promenerar vi gemensamt till Örebro Läns Museum för att uppleva utställningen ”Ingen äger tiden”.

As part of the program for the exhibition The Promise at Index, participants of the course Modernist Legacies and Constructions of Whiteness (Kungl. Konsthögskolan, 2016–2017) present a project titled The Roaming Institute.
The Roaming Institute consists of a series of walks through the city which continue the research of the course, reflecting on the traces of modernist architecture and urban planning in Stockholm, and its entanglement with normative concepts of subjectivity. The walks invite the audience to discover new perspectives of the city and its surroundings and opening discussions about some of the unfulfilled promises of modernism.
Each of the 6 sessions is conceived around a specific topic and led by different participants from the course, or in conversation with invited guests. The walks will take place on weekly, every Saturday from 29 July to 2 September. Start of the walks is, unless otherwise mentioned, at Index, Kungsbro Strand 19.

Duration: 1,5 hours
This walk will engage with the Vision 2040: A Stockholm for Everyone, a plan set by the City of Stockholm’s City Council for the development of the city until the year 2040. The vision details objectives and ambitions for all committees and boards within the city organisation towards a sustainable growth. During the walk, we would like to discuss the gaps between the objectives detailed in the Vision 2040 and the present challenges of gentrification and segregation. While the discussion will be about the future, it simultaneously reflects on the present – the “place” where the future begins.
Starting at Index, the walk will lead towards Slussen with an opportunity to listen to an audio recording of the vision, followed by a discussion about the road towards the future. Slussen will serve as a platform for the workshop, as it is one of the most important junctures in the city and currently under construction – and highly contested – as a new “meeting place”.
Requirements: Please bring a mobile phone and earphones to access the audio walk during the event. If you require a separate mp3 player, please let us know before 3 August by email: rsvp@indexfoundation.se. Please bring a blanket or similar to sit during the workshop. A number of folding chairs will be available.
